We've got a few new faces round these parts, so I thought it might be useful for each of us to introduce ourselves...like this, for instance:
My name is Ariel Gordon. I'm a Winnipeg-based writer and editor. Though I've written both fiction and creative non-fiction, my primary form these days is poetry. I also review books, mostly literary novels, for the Winnipeg Free Press. In addition, I coordinate The Aqua Books/Writers' Collective Free Your Mind Reading Series, a new monthly multi-genre reading series.
My goal for this month is a poem a day.

I'm Polly Washburn. Recent Winnipegger, current Torontonian. Focused mostly on screenwriting in the last year or so, but still love what poetry does to me, and what I can do with poetry.
As I said in my post this morning, it's unlikely I'll produce on a daily basis, but I'll set 5 poems a week as a goal!
Look forward to reading everyone's creations!
Hi there,
I'm Regan Taylor. I live in Vancouver but my hometown's Montreal. Just wrapped up the second year of a Creative Writing MFA at UBC, about to start finishing the thesis portion of that. I also recently did a year-long stint working on PRISM International magazine (with Bren, who told me about this fine project).
I'll be totally chuffed if I write something every other day. I'm generally unprolific and a tad uptight about what I do produce... hoping to let go of that for this month!
Hi all,
I'm pleased to be part of May Day again this year. Last year I was 31 for 31, but I have a much more modest goal this year: to do what I can. (I'll also be going on hiatus for a week-long NYC adventure later in May.)
Looking forward to reading your work and sharing mine!
Kerry
I'm Bren Simmers. I too am finishing up my Creative Writing MFA at UBC, and a year as poetry editor for PRISM.
My goals are very modest this year, as I'm doing a lot of revision for my thesis right now and revision requires a different approach.
I'm hoping to write 6 poems this month. That's all.
Looking forward to the month ahead!
