Literary Astrographer
the big little bang theory: wondering what sound stars make
when they shoot, and is a shooting star
an act of constellatory aggression? who are they
shooting at, and with what? maybe they only get one word and it's BANG
or maybe the stars look
down on us at night and whisper
did you know those tiny flickering lights
burned out long ago?
it's just that we don't speak the same language
you, me, and the stars, and there are
no translators or mediators to tell a rock
what a raindrop is crying about, let alone a pulsing distant sun
and the air I push out shaped in words
has been distorted from synapse to sound
there is no purity in language
and one never equals one
every metaphor
a loaded / unloaded
gun:
unbang.

there is no purity in language..
..one never equals one. Love it.
did you know that thru our newest scopes, we see that every star our naked eye sees has its own Earth-sized planet? so much round & round going on in our sky!
I like the way you start big and then bring the focus in on two people. Really, really like the reversal in stanza 2.
Stanza 1 could be tightened a bit, maybe by leaving out "who are they shooting at, and with what?" which is less interesting than the other questions. And for the sake of rhythm, I'd leave out "or mediators" later on.
Very nice.
