winter throttled hard at her neck, trees still brownly bare in mid-May
but today I sat outside, sun warm at my back like a longaway lover
frugally I ordered the bottled water, but instead paid three
dollars more than the most expensive coffee
I told myself it was surely a magic potion
a homeopathic tincture
an alchemic brew
on reading the label the shapely blue-tinted bottle
was infused with inspiration in four elemental ingredients
which is surely why I'm writing this poem

I like this, especially the first two lines with their alliterations and word-play "brownly bare" and "longaway lover."
Maybe this is just me, but I wanted the poem to come back to the image of the slow spring... it felt like that first line wanted a bit more, either at the beginning or somewhere further in.
