hi fellow poets, I just thought I'd tell you where I am other than PhD-land… I'm lead on this major First World War commemorative project, The Long Goodbye: a conversation across a century. I am inviting you to contribute if you wish. Here is a link to The Long Goodbye and we're also on FB: https://www.facebook.com/thelonggoodbye?fref=nf
hope you don't mind my digression, but I thought you'd appreciate knowing and I hope you'll participate!

Good to know…mailing a postcard is unlikely at this end although if there was a way to do a virtual postcard I would. My great-grandfather was conscripted in WWI and served a jail sentence rather than fight. He had been abducted as an infant, and I like to think that was part of it: not knowing who your family is for most of your life certainly confuses things on the battlefields…
You can email me a message and I can write it on a postcard. We would welcome something about your grandfather for sure. We want all angles.
